Description

The metal distortion effects pedal from the iconic T-Rex Tonebug series.

Features:

  • Controls for Gain and Level
  • Equalizer unit with slider controls for Low, Mid and High

It has 2 major drawbacks:

  1. The somewhat difficult to adjust controls for the equalizer unit (very short travel, with at the same time very spongy slide controls)
  2. The absurdly stupid name!

Otherwise it is actually a fascinatingly good high-gain distortion pedal in terms of sound and versatility.

I am quite torn regarding that pedal:
Would never put it on my board due to the – as described above – flimsy EQ-silders and the stupid name. But it is no bad distortion pedal by any means.
Starts with reasonable gain and gets up to modern levels (even though it looks so retro as a pedal). And one can not emphasize enough how much a distortion profits from an (good and versatile) EQ section: If you like the base tone you can get a lot of different sound out of one pedal – though you can not quickly switch between them; which ultimately led to me not using it.
