Chorus
A chorus effects occurs when sounds with approximately the same time and very similar pitches are combined to create a natural “doubling/multiplying” of a guitar or bass signal.
Most chorus pedals allow you to adjust the depth and rate of the effect, as well as the mix of the original signal and the duplicated, chorused signal. Some chorus pedals also offer additional controls for shaping the tone of the effect, such as high and low frequency filters, and some also have stereo outputs for a wider and more immersive sound.
There are many different types of chorus pedals available, ranging from simple, analog designs to more complex digital models with advanced features like presets and MIDI control. They can add a subtle, shimmering quality to clean tones, or add depth and dimension to heavily distorted sounds. They are commonly used in genres such as rock, pop and metal.
