John Squire

John Squire is a British musician, best known as the guitarist and asone of the founding members of the legendary Manchester band The Stone Roses. Born in 1962 in Manchester, he formed The Stone Roses with singer Ian Brown, bassist Mani, and drummer Reni in 1983 and the band quickly became a key player in the “Madchester” music scene of the late 1980s.

Squire’s distinctive guitar playing was a major part of The Stone Roses’ sound, and he also contributed heavily to the band’s songwriting. Some of the group’s most iconic songs, including “I Wanna Be Adored,” “Fool’s Gold,” and “She Bangs the Drums,” feature Squire’s distinctive guitar riffs and melodic solos.
